About Me

My name is Cameron Ellis. I have served as a spiritual care practitioner in hospital serving various patient populations: palliative, emergency/crisis care, mental health, to name a few. I draw from an eclectic array of therapeutic modalities with the main one being existential-humanist. I offer empathic listening and support for your meaning-making process.

My Professional and Education Background

I Received my training through the Master of Pastoral Studies program offered at Emmanuel College of Victoria University in the University of Toronto, graduating with a certificate in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy.

I have completed Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) providing spiritual care/chaplaincy services to patients and their families while in hospital.

I am registered with both the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (Reg.#12301) and Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC, Associate Member).

Prior to this, I earned a Bachelor degree in Biology and Philosophy from the University of Guelph. I have completed Masters level graduate training in Philosophy as well as Comparative Literature and the Arts, both from Brock University in St. Catherines. Lastly, I received my Doctorate in the field of Cultural Studies from Trent University in Peterborough, where I studied utopian science fiction, philosophy and psychoanalysis, as well as queer/gender theory.

I am open to working with all populations regardless of age demographic, sex, gender, or cultural heritage. I hold a special interest in working with First Responders suffering from PTSD and other occupational stress related challenges.

That said, I am honoured to walk with you on your journey.
